Sumo is the traditional sport of Japan (although it must be said it is, very gradually, losing its popularity to easier sports such as baseball and soccer. Whether this has anything to do with the fact that the only yokozuna now fighting is a Mongolian may have something to do with it.)

Way back in 1999 when I was in Japan, there were three or four Sumo magazines, in Japanese obviously.

Sumo World, which I picked up regularly both while in Japan, and afterwards (thanks to my sister) was an English-language magazine, which began publication in about 1979, but unfortunately folded around 2000-2002.

There are many sumo sites on the web, not to mention the official sumo site, the Nihon Sumo Kyokai's Official Grand Sumo Home Page (in English)

Other English language sites:

SumoTalk
Banzuke
Sumo Fan Magazine
