After we finished photographing in the aviary, we went on the walk over the various wild animal habitats. For the first half of this walk, I didn't see any of the animals.
But the signs certainly look nice.

Orange circles ID the tree about which the sign gives information.
There were about 10 of these scattered throughout the walk.

I was quite surprised and pleased to see these Bald Eagles in plain view.
These habitats are fenced in, but not netted over. However, these
two eagles were injured in the wild and can't fly.

They're building a new habit for vultures.
Not quite sure what this trench is for.

There was more trash in the habitats than I expected to see. People aren't allowed to eat or drink on the walkways. The city streets drain into the waterway that runs through the habitats, and the litter comes with it.

The explanation of the trash.

A bobcat.

One of two coyotes in its habitat.

A handful of white tail deer and some wild turkeys shared a large habitat.

I overheard a father telling his young son that every Thanksgiving they had a turkey like this. I didn't point out that he was wrong. Domestic turkeys look and behave nothing like wild turkeys.

A red fox. It was bigger than I expected.

Back to where we started.

We've come full circle. Go back into the museum for page 6.
