The Delicious Death Society was inspired by a scene from Agatha Christie's A Murder is Announced.

The excitable foreign refugee cook for the Blacklock household makes a fantastic chocolate cake (despite the fact that after-wartime rationing makes it difficult to get ingredients.) A member of the Blacklock household likes it so much that he calls it Delicious Death.

"Delicious Death! I will not have my cake called that!"

"It's a complement, really. He means that it would be worth dying to eat such a cake."

So it is with the Delicious Death Society. It's "worth dying" to read a fantastic crime or mystery novel, view a masterpiece of a movie, play a game, see a play, and so on.

This website is still under construction, as it used to be hosted on the "free" geocities, which closed last year. We are working to upgrade it. Thanks for your patience.
