Brock Peters
Peters was born on July 2, 1927, in New York, New York and died on August 23 2005, in Los Angeles, California of pancreatic cancer.
He had a long television career, with his later outings in science fiction. He played in Battlestar Galactica: Chief Opposer Solon in "Murder on the Rising Star" (1979), Admiral Cartwright in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (1991) and Joseph Sisko in 9 episodes of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1996-98), and a variety of voices for cartoons and audio, including Darth Vader in the radio adaption of Star Wars. |

Saturday, August 2, 2008: Space Exploration Technologies Corporation, "Space X," a privately funded space exploration company, attempted to launch a rocket on Saturday night. It carried three satellites for NASA. It exploded shortly after liftoff. The news was reported in the Sunday papers: Launch of Private Rocket Fails; Three Satellites Were Onboard.
