ARCHON announces dates and rates: October 3-5, 2008

The 32nd annual Archon Convention, the St. Louis metro area’s largest science fiction and fantasy convention, will once again take center stage at the Collinsville Gateway Center October 3-5, 2008. Archon is honored to announce that the guests for 2008 include Guest of Honor Laurell K. Hamilton, Artist Guest of Honor John Kovalic, Fan Guests of Honor Rich and Michelle Zellich.

Archon has been a long standing tradition for many of the St. Louis metro area’s science fiction and fantasy fans, with dozens of authors and artists and several thousand fans. In 2007, Archon had the honor to host the 9th North American Science Fiction Convention (NASFiC) convention. The NASFiC is held whenever the World Science Fiction Convention (WorldCon) is held outside of North America. In 2008, Archon returns to its regular dates in the first weekend of October.

Programming events at Archon include panels, round table discussions, art show and auction, vendor room, gaming, and a WorldCon quality masquerade contest on Saturday night. Programming items and a detailed event listing will appear on the convention website (archonstl.org) as they are confirmed.

The weekend adult membership rates have been set as:
$45 until February 29
$50 from March 1 until July 31
$55 from August 1 until September 15
and $60 from September 15 on and at-the-door.

Children 5 and under are free, 6-10 years old are $8, and 11-16 years old are $20.
