    Mathilde Moisant 1953 Moissant, after a flying career of less than a year, gave up the air. In this year, she was named fair pilot and official hostess of the Sixth Annual Air Fair at Los Angeles International Airport. This fair also commemorated the 50th anniversary of powered flight. She will die at age 85 in 1964. .
