The Rondo Awards, 2007
The Thunder Child is pleased to announce that for 2007, we have been nominated for a Rondo Award for best webmagazine!
In addition, Steve Vertlieb's contribution, A Magical Tribute to Bernard Herrmann, has been nominated for Best Article of 2007.
Below, we present a copy of the entire ballot for the 2007 Rondo awards, which is sponsored by the Classic Horror Film Forum.
However, don't vote using the information below (because we don't include the magazine cover photos that you can see at the official ballot site). Click on the banner ad at the top of this page, or at the top of Steve's article, to go to the official Rondo Awards ballot.
We present the ballot below for an entirely different reason.
You may be thinking to yourself... you only see one or two movies a year, and pick up only one or two magazines. Why should you partipate in a Rondo Awards voting? Because, by reading through the 27 categories (yes, 27) you might find something intriguing that you'll want to go out and see or pick up for yourself. [And there's no reason not to vote even if you only can pick a choice out of 1 or 2 categories - simply say N/A for all the rest!] |
|
Some of the categories are pretty straight-forward, of course - best movie, best soundtrack, best DVD release.
But then we get to the fascinating stuff - Best Television Presentation - with descriptions of particular episodes that might pique your interest if you've never seen the program concerned before.
Read the Best Restoration categories to see what's new in the DVD field that you might be missing on your old copies of certain movies. That goes for Best DVD Extra as well - as DVD companies do love to double-dip in that fashion to make you buy the same movie two or three times!
Best Book and Best Article each have descriptions of what's involved, which again may pique your interest, as well as Best Fan Event at a convention.
